Meet Luke Redfern: Calm, Capable, and Quietly Ambitious
Luke Redfern is a Manager in the Accounting team at Navigate Advisors and a Chartered Accountant.
He has always been drawn to understanding how businesses work. Back in school, business studies just clicked for him, and that early interest led him to pursue a Business and Accounting degree. After graduating, Luke stepped straight into full-time work at a local firm while completing his CA. Over the years, he has built a broad base of experience in business advisory, tax and compliance, working across Wagga and Adelaide, with a short stint in the university sector along the way.
Returning to Wagga recently was a pivotal moment. After spending time living and working in Adelaide, Luke realised just how much he values the long-term relationships that come with working closely with local business owners. For him, it is about more than numbers. It is about understanding their goals, their values, and becoming a genuine part of what they are building.
Today, Luke’s work primarily focuses on business advisory and day-to-day compliance. He thrives on helping clients make sense of their financials and enjoys showing them how to structure their business in a way that supports their lifestyle and aspirations. He also values the variety that comes with working across a range of industries. It keeps the work dynamic and provides constant opportunities to learn.
Being Wagga born and bred, Luke has a strong connection to the local business community. He works with a wide spectrum of businesses, from small family-run enterprises to larger, more complex operations. What drives him is connecting with the person behind the business, understanding what matters to them and helping move things forward in a way that feels achievable and grounded.
His approach is calm and practical. He is focused on listening first, getting a clear picture of where clients want to go, and then working out how best to support that journey. The feedback he most often receives is that he is reliable, responsive, and able to make even the most complex situations feel manageable and straightforward.
Luke brings a strong technical foundation from his Chartered Accounting training, combined with the broader perspective that comes from working in diverse sectors and locations. Having spent time in both regional and metro firms, he has had exposure to a wide variety of client scenarios and business structures. That breadth of experience allows him to approach challenges from multiple angles. Within the Navigate team, Luke is often the person people turn to when they need to talk something through. He is known for being the steady hand who brings clarity and direction when things feel complex.
Outside of work, Luke makes the most of the outdoors. He plays footy on weekends, enjoys the occasional round of golf, and loves travelling with his partner. It is his way of switching off and recharging after a big week.
